Friday’s Events : 20 May 2011 Venue or location Times
Arrival – Our visitors will begin arriving in the afternoon and will be greeted at the Corn Exchange
Secure baggage storage will be provided and refreshments will be available.
Our guests will be able to relax or look around the town until their hosts are available to meet them.

Saturday events

Saturday’s Events: 21 May 2011 Venue or location Times
Devizes Rugby Club – Colts Rugby Team 3Rs challenge. 25 players will Run, Ride Row 550km (the distance to Mayenne) to raise funds for a trip there in October Devizes Rugby Club 9.00 am to 7.00 pm
Twinning Conference – Discussions between delegations from the three twinned towns. Corn Exchange 9 am to 12.30 pm
Street Entertainers – An extravaganza of FREE live performance with local groups and the fantastic
Bash Street Theatre.
Market Place 11.00am to 2.30 pm
Museum Open - Display of Twinning memorabilia and exhibition of photographs and memorabilia celebrating the history of the town. Devizes Museum 10 am to 4 pm
Brewery Tour – Visit to Devizes’ world renewed brewery, the Home of 6X, where visitors will see the Shire horse stables, cooperage, sign writing studio and main brewery production area. The tour will end with a tutored beer sampling. Limited to 20 people

Catholic Service – Guests and hosts will be made welcome to this regular Saturday evening service. Church of the Immaculate Conception – St Josephs Place 6:30 pm
Twinning Dinner Dance – A lively evening of dining and socialising including a barn dance for those who are a little more energetic.
The meal will consist of a fork buffet and dessert. Tickets £10 per family

Visit to Longleat – A chance for some of our younger visitors to experience the famous Longleat Safari Park and visitor attractions. Limited to 20 people:
Entrance charge.

Civic Service - A church service celebrating our twinning. St John’s Church
(Civic Procession leaves from the Town Hall at 10.15 am)

Wreath Laying – Wreaths from Mayenne, Waiblingen and Devizes will be laid by the respective Town Mayors. War Memorial,

Civic Lunch – Hosted by Devizes Town Council, an opportunity for conference delegates and their hosts to meet informally with civic leaders. Town Hall 12 noon to 2.30pm
Museum Open - Display of Twinning memorabilia and exhibition of photographs and memorabilia celebrating the history of the town Devizes Museum 12 noon to 4pm
Walk Around Devizes - led by local historian John Girvan, a fascinating insight into the folklore and history of the town, accompanied by French and German interpreters. About 1.5 hours’ easy walking. Meet at Market Cross 3pm start
Barge Trip - Heading west and going through the first few locks. Refreshments will be available.
Tickets £2 per head
From the Wharf 4.45 to 6.45pm
Traditional Fête - Stalls run by local organisations, and fun and games for all. Food available Licensed Bar Parking available at Morrison’s Car Park

Open Air Finale Concert - Performance from Devizes & Waiblingen Town Bands, combined English & French choirs, Regency Dancers & Blues/Folk duo.
